Now naturally people should attempt to be detailed and fluid in their post style but this rule isn't about that. I'll be using simplicity in the following examples.
This rule applies to everyone, even myself. You MUST read a storyline, or at least the first few/middle/ending posts, before you MAKE a post of your own, this way you have an idea of WHAT is going on.
Examples.
BAD:
Previous Post by Player 2: He faded away, thus ensuring he would be seen no more.
Last Posted by Player 1: ... And finally it drew to its end, Player 2 was no more, and player 1 could finally rest easy.
Posted by Player 3: Player 3 walks into the room and notices the 2 people doing there business and replies with a simple smile.
In there, Player 3 had no clue WTF he/she was doing and did not recognize that Player 2 had passed on.
GOOD:
Previous Post by Player 2: He faded away, thus ensuring he would be seen no more.
Last Posted by Player 1: ... And finally it drew to its end, Player 2 was no more, and player 1 could finally rest easy.
Posted by Player 3: Player 3 walks into the room and takes sight of Player 1, replying with a simple smile
In that post, Player 3 acknowledged he/she had the slightest clue what was going on and made a post showing such. In the bad example, which is self explanatory, he/she pretended player 2 was still there.
The penalty for breaking this rule, I WILL DELETE THE POST THAT DIDN'T MAKE SENSE. I am tired of seeing this go on, and it ruins an atmosphere quickly. Go with the flow of the story, and you will not have to worry about a thing.
